Sonya, Medical Assistant and Care Coordinator

My Role at Temple Natural Health

Since joining Temple Natural Health in September 2025, I have served as a bridge between patient care and clinical operations. My role focuses on supporting our Naturopathic Doctor team through lab coordination, patient follow-up, and clinical tasks like performing injections.

With a background as a Certified Nursing Assistant and experience as an ER tech, I bring strong clinical skills and a high-level of adaptability to the team. I’m passionate about combining my medical knowledge with organized workflows to enhance patient outcomes and ensure a seamless experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

I transitioned to Temple after a back injury shifted my focus away from the high-intensity physical demands of acute care. I was looking for a better work-life balance that still allowed me to keep my foot in the clinical door, and this dual role as a Care Coordinator and Medical Assistant was the perfect fit.

My favorite thing about working here is the focus on the “whole-body picture”—in the ER, the goal is a quick fix for the moment, but here we look at long-term vitality. I truly value the team aspect we have built; coming from the ER, I know that a strong team is everything, and I’m so glad to find that same spirit in this environment.

Outside the Clinic

I moved to Seattle from a rural town in the Midwest—about six hours south of Chicago—at the age of 20 without even touring the city first! I love pushing myself out of my comfort zone and building stories to tell one day; to me, adventure is essential for the soul. The Washington hills are a bit different from the flatlands of Illinois, but I’m enjoying the new scenery.

When I’m not at work, I’m usually with my two-year-old Husky, Willow, who made the 28-hour trek across the country with me. At home, you’ll find me doing yoga, stretching, and setting a soothing ambiance with essential oils and music.
